Knights ‘07 Elite Take Home Gold at the Can/Am Challenge Cup in Lake Placid, NY.

November 10th 2019

Coming fresh off a BU game and meet-and-greet with ‘80’s Olympic men’s hockey gold medalist and team captain, Mike Eruzione, the NE Knights ’07 Elite Team went 4-0-1 to take home Gold in the Can/Am Challenge Cup tournament this past weekend in Lake Placid. The team played their first game to end in a 2-2 tie against the CT Junior Whalers. The following games brought all wins; 4-0 vs. EC Wizards, 6-1 vs. CT Junior Rangers, 4-1 vs. Troy Albany Titans. Securing a spot in the finals, the Knights met the CT Junior Whalers once again on Sunday to defend the first seed and clinch gold. With a 3-0 shutout, the Knights proved victorious to win first place and go undefeated in the PeeWee division. Coaches Blanchard, Reed, and Kryzak were extremely happy with the teamwork and overall play, grit, and performance of the boys.  A team first approach to every game is why they were able to go undefeated and win gold.  A special group of players that continue to make things happen together.
